Port 5000 already binded on modern Mac operating systems #3
Issue:
Use of port 5000 on modern Mac operating systems creates an error because port is already binded by MacOS system processes.
Reproduce (on modern MacOS):
docker run -p 5000:5000 flask_blog
Should start app normally.
Gives error message 'docker: Error response from daemon: Ports are not available: exposing port TCP 0.0.0.0:5000 -> 127.0.0.1:0: listen tcp 0.0.0.0:5000: bind: address already in use'.
Environment:
MacBook Pro - Apple M3 Max
memory 36GB
macOS Sequoia 15.6
Python 3.13.5
Add for instructions:
For modern Mac operating systems:
for running docker: 'docker run -p 5100:5000 flask_blog' and then url 'localhost:5100' or '127.0.0.1:5100'
