Python 3.15.0 was released on 2026-10-09. Repositories that set requires-python = ">=3.15" currently fail in the updater with tool_version_not_supported, because 3.15 is missing from the list of pre-installed Python versions. This mirrors dependabot#13321 (the equivalent bump for 3.14): - add 3.15.0 to PRE_INSTALLED_PYTHON_VERSIONS_RAW - build it in python/Dockerfile and uv/Dockerfile, and make it the default pyenv global version - tar the previous default (3.14) like the other non-default versions - bump the ecosystem_versions spec to expect a max of 3.15 - point both READMEs at the file that actually holds the version list: language_version_manager.rb reads PRE_INSTALLED_PYTHON_VERSIONS but does not define it, language.rb defines it Blocked on docker-library/python#1134: docker.io/library/python:3.15.0-bookworm is not published yet, so the image build cannot succeed until it lands.

* Add support for Python 3.15 Python 3.15.0 was released on 2026-10-09. Repositories that set requires-python = ">=3.15" currently fail in the updater with tool_version_not_supported, because 3.15 is missing from the list of pre-installed Python versions. This mirrors #13321 (the equivalent bump for 3.14): - add 3.15.0 to PRE_INSTALLED_PYTHON_VERSIONS_RAW - build it in python/Dockerfile and uv/Dockerfile, and make it the default pyenv global version - tar the previous default (3.14) like the other non-default versions - bump the ecosystem_versions spec to expect a max of 3.15 - point both READMEs at the file that actually holds the version list: language_version_manager.rb reads PRE_INSTALLED_PYTHON_VERSIONS but does not define it, language.rb defines it Blocked on docker-library/python#1134: docker.io/library/python:3.15.0-bookworm is not published yet, so the image build cannot succeed until it lands. * Run pipenv 2025.1.1 only on Python 3.15 pipenv 2024.4.1 ships a vendored pip whose typing_extensions reads typing.no_type_check_decorator, which Python 3.15 removed, so pipenv fails to import at all. 2025.1.1 imports and locks successfully on 3.15. Keep 2024.4.1 below 3.15, where it still works and the existing Pipfile updater specs rely on its locking behaviour. pip evaluates the version markers per interpreter, so both helpers install the right pipenv for each Python version. Both python and uv helpers get the same pins. * Add extras to raven in extra_subdependency lock fixture The Pipfile declares raven with the flask extra, but the lockfile omitted the extras key. pipenv 2025.1.1 reads extras from the lockfile when upgrading, so the missing key made it drop blinker. Real lockfiles include the key. * Use Python 3.15.1 3.15.1 is published, and the 3.15 images now carry it. * Use Python 3.15.2 3.15.2 is an expedited security release and the 3.15 images now carry it. --------- Co-authored-by: amnesiaof <amnesiaof@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Rob Aiken <v-robaiken@github.com>
